Product Introduction:

1. Frequency range: hardware supports 50-54MHz.

2. Mode: Receive for USB mode and -3db bandwidth is about 3KHZ. The transmitter only supports FT8, JT9, JT10, JT65 and WSPR (it does not support FT4 because FT4 effect is average). Voice-only transmission is not supported.

3. Transmit power: about 1-8W (it is possible to be up to 12W) continuously adjustable (you need to adjust the adjustable resistance on the motherboard), and the power amplifier efficiency is about 60%-71% (calculated at the highest power). Additional heat dissipation is required when it i used at a high power.

4. Frequency synthesis clock: using ±2ppm TCXO, with high frequency stability. No need for too much adjustment.

5. Channels: 2 channels. HamGeek BOX-6 supports channel programming, and the written frequency information takes effect immediately. No need to restart the device (You need to connect the serial port on the motherboard. A TTL module and a serial port debugging software should be prepared by yourself. Some serial port debugging software does not work very well, and you need to use several software to try).

6. Single button operation: short press the button to switch channels. Long press to transmit the current channel frequency +1KHz monotone signal for antenna tuning.

7. Small size: The volume without protrusions is about 10cm x 7.6cm x 3.5cm/3.9" x 3" x 1.4".

8. Interface information: power interface: XT60; antenna interface: BNC (port impedance: 50 ohms); audio interface: 3.5mm; serial port: 3pin header (inside the machine).

9. Power supply voltage and current: 10-15.5V (RF power may reach 12W at 15.5V) and recommended 13.8V. 13.8V at 0.4-1.45A (load impedance has a certain impact on it) and receiving standby current is about 0.130A.

10. Trigger mode: VOX.

 

HamGeek BOX-6 is a "toy box". There are no such cumbersome and basically unused functions. It boasts a dedicated frequency band to better match the circuit. It can handle most frequency modulated communication modes very well, and I think it should be a good choice for getting started in the 6m band. I used my end-of-life CMU200 comprehensive tester to perform a simple test on HamGeek BOX-6:

- Receiving sensitivity: Approx. -111dBm (12dB SINAD)

- Harmonics: Better than - 43+10log(p) db

- The comprehensive tester is very old and the data may not be accurate, so the data above is for reference only, and I have no way to guarantee you. Thus, HamGeek BOX-6 should only be used as a moderation and demodulation experimental tool.
